What is available in the market outside the Health Insurance Marketplace?

In Nebraska, health insurance coverage will continue to be available in the market outside the Health Insurance Marketplace that meets the requirement to have health insurance. However, if consumers want to take advantage of premium tax credits to help pay for part of their premiums, they must buy coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Consumers also can buy plans outside the Mareketplace that don't cover the essential health benefits, such as plans that cover only specialty or ancillary services (for example, cancer, hearing, chiropractic, etc.) Note, though, that these policies do not provide minimum essential coverage and will not satisfy the individual mandate.
